  • Major investment package for Nenagh Hospital, totalling over €4 million, to upgrade facilities there and to ensure the viability of the hospital into the future.
  • Investment includes-
    1. Fully equipped, modern, endoscopy suite (€2 million)
    2. New Sterile Services Department.
    3. New lifts
    4. New Surgical Unit (at construction stage-worth a further €3.5 million)
  • €1.4 million for new Rehab care facility in Thurles
  • Provision of €9 million in grant aid for Sue Ryder Development in Nenagh
  • Breastcheck Rollout secured for the women of North Tipperary
  • €55,000 for Newport Daycare Centre
  • Advancement of Borrisokane Day Care Centre project

Education

  • €9 million for new school for Borrisokane Community College and new special needs unit
  • €5 million for Ursuline Convent building project
  • Future of Tipperary Institute secured. Staff jobs saved
  • Scoil Aonghusa, Cashel -New classrooms, Autism Unit and €50,000 for new Bus
  • Autism Unit for Gaile NS, Thurles
  • Clonoulty School – Secured new building
  • Carrig NS, (Birr) – Secured new building
  • Secured substantial grants for Littleton and Rearcross National Schools
  • After years of broken promises, secured funding for a P.E. Hall for Scoil Ruain, Killenaule.

  • Swift progression of Decentralization programme to North Tipp
  • €6.5 million commitment for upgrade of Liberty Square, Thurles

Sport and Leisure

  • €1.2 million secured to complete Roscrea Pool/Leisure Centre
  • Multimillion Euro Regeneration of Thurles Pool & Sports Complex €6.5 million
  • €400,000 for overhaul of Thurles Greyhound Stadium
  • Grants of over €400,000 for Holycross/Ballycahill GAA
  • €40,000 for Newport GAA lighting
  • Templemore Pitch and Putt Equipment funding secured
  • €100,000 for All Weather Facility at Peake Villa FC
  • €40,000 for All Weather Pitch for St. Kevin’s, Two Mile Borris
  • €100,000 for all Weather Pitch for Newport FC
  • Hurling Wall for Durlas Og
  • Cappawhite GAA improvement grant
  • €100,000 for Clonoulty/Rossmore GAA
  • €22,645 funding secured in a capital grant for the Source Arts Centre, Thurles to go towards health and safety works, light fittings and the reconfiguration of the café/bar area
